Koalas In South Gippsland

This cute but rather noisy little koala actually lives in my garden in Foster, South Gippsland

During the mating season he makes quite a noise (much like a wild pig grunting) and we can hear the females (sounding a little like a baby crying) sometimes as well.

A friend of mine was terrified when she first heard a koala, not knowing what it was in the middle of the night.

We have stands of eucalyptus in various patches over the property on which the koalas feed. You have to look carefully in the trees to find them as they sleep very peacefully in the forks of the branches.
