Seeing Koalas In The Bush

One of the goals of our latest road trip through the small country towns in South Gippsland was for my daughter to see a koala in the wild.

We didn’t purposely search for one though, we knew that before long one would just appear as we drove along the road … and it did.

Where To Find Koalas Easily In South Gippsland

Just between Toora and Port Franklin and north east of Foster on the back road running parallel to the South Gippsland Highway is an old track near the cemetery called the “Kodak Koala Walk”. We didn’t even need to get out of the car as this young furry critter was attempting to walk across the fairly quiet road in front of us, to use his incredibly sharp claws to climb this eucalypt tree.
