Vegetables Planted On Roadsides

We’ve often commented on how appreciative we are that the local South Gippsland Shire Council organises regular seasonal planting of flowers, ornamentals and even vegetables on the roundabouts and curbside gardens in our area.

These coloured Swiss chard stalks, luscious green silver beet leaves, spring onions and masses of thyme were photographed in Main Street Foster and we also spotted sunflowers, crab apples and even corn. The “Companion Planting Guides” recommend that silver beet goes well with Onions, Beetroot and Lavender, while thyme is useful around any of the cabbage family.

See more pictures of flowers and gardens, moss and fungi photographed in the local area.
