Honey Eater Gets The Sage Flower

These long billed honey-eaters were regular visitors to my property in South Gippsland and this particular photo was taken in a permaculture garden I once established at Mount Best in Victoria, and visited again just recently.

Many thanks to the new owners Ray and Lorraine, who still affectionately call it “Lizzies Garden” … and it was with great appreciation we saw it some 7 years later, beautifully nurtured, expanded, improved, flowering and flourishing. ~ ER

This delightful little bird enjoyed the pink sage flowers for almost a minute, while we were only an arms length away.
