The Fabulous Gardens In Leongatha

Whenever I drive through Leongatha along the South Gippsland Highway the first thing I’m always taken with is the beautiful roadside plantings throughout the local area.

Then as I walked along the streets one day with camera in hand, I couldn’t help but be impressed by the neat, and well kept condition of many of the lawns and gardens in the town, mind you, the local shire council offices are situated here, so it makes perfect sense that the amenities and aesthetics of the place are tended to regularly … never-the-less, it is a wonderful sight to see.

Pictures include street scenes, native lilly pilly berries, gum tree pods, wattle blossom, daffodils, pink camelia, red hot poker spike, autumn leaves, eucalypt tree bark, garden pots, a magpie and more.

These lovely photographs of the gardens in Leongatha tell the story much better than I could possibly do with words … enjoy!
