Pictures Of Port Albert

Port Albert sits on the east coast of Australia between Yarram and Port Welshpool and is at the southern end of the beautiful ninety mile beach.

There are quite a lot of things to do around Port Albert and visiting the Maritime Museum is always a good place to start.

Established in 1841, Port Albert also became one of the busiest after the discovery of gold in the 1850’s. This popular town attracted prospectors, machinery and supplies into its port and according to local records, over a thousand ounces of gold was shipped out each week.

Pictures on this page include Port Albert jetty, the Maritime Museum Sign, the local Port Albert pub, seagulls on the pier, the beach, the general store and cafe.

Born Free On A Boat

This would have to be the best name for a boat “born free”. You can usually see it moored at the Port Albert jetty.

I just had someone phone me tonight asking about the Sailing Tours they run from the harbour here, but there are even more things to do at Port Albert, like go walking along the coastal tracks, take a look through the General Store and Art Gallery, enjoy some of the best coffee and cakes you’ll eat anywhere at the great cafe, browse through the historic Museum and more …

Enjoying a Cruise

It’s ohhh so nice to sit out the front of a luxury catamaran and enjoy the view, a pleasant chat and feel the wind gently blow away all my worries. This picture was taken from onboard “The Nooramunga” during a sailing trip out towards Snake Island.

There are a few options for touring the area by boat. Take a look at or you may even like to indulge in seeing the waters of Nooramunga Marine Park on a magnificent Cruise At Sunset

Storm On The Port Albert Walking Track

The peaceful town of Port Albert has quite a nice range of enjoyable things to do throughout the year with fishing competitions, festivals and sailing boat trips.

The old port walking track takes in bushland as well as the beach as is just one of the healthy lifestyle activities that can keep the whole family occupied while you’re staying in one of the quiet coastal towns along Victorias shoreline.

Snapper Festival ~ Port Albert

There’s a great weekend of Fishing, Fun and Family Entertainment planned at Port Albert November 1st and 2nd.

It’s only a 3 hour drive from Melbourne to this peaceful and beautiful resort-style coastal village…what a nice day trip it makes!

I’m impressed with the list of events, including a fishing competition, produce market, the biggest garage sale in Gippsland, a book launch, superb fresh food, bands and blues singers, kids fair, treasure hunt and other competitions, jet ski rides, roving entertainers and so much more…
