Fresh Produce Markets In South Gippsland

It’s always so nice to see the great turn up of people at the local farmers markets, for the arts and crafts and freshly grown organic produce in so many of the towns in South Gippsland. Places like Foster, Cowes, Coal Creek, Churchill Island, Grantville Inverloch, Jumbunna, Newhaven, Korumburra, Loch, Leongatha, Philip Island, Tarwin Lower, Mirboo North, Wonthaggi and Yarram all seem to have markets on a regular basis.

This particular photo of fresh vegetables, silver-beet, spring onions, sweet potato, beans celery, capsicum, lettuce, pumpkin, was taken at the Organic Produce Market in Koonwarra.

YOU COULD BE THE NEW (leasehold) OWNER OF THE MEENIYAN MOTEL:

Why part with a huge amount of cash for property, when you can purchase this successfully operating accommodation business with a regular stream of reservations booked in advance! The current owner has got some exciting plans for the future and is happy to help you get settled while she packs.

ABOUT THE MOTEL:

This popular motel is in a prime location on the South Gippsland Highway and is one of the first places you see as you enter the town. It has 12 comfortable rooms including a self contained family unit, an attractive salt water pool, spacious garden surrounds and will sleep a total of 35 people. It’s part of the budget motel chain and takes online bookings too. It can easily be managed by a single person or a couple and has been upgraded and improved significantly over the last 8 years or so.

THE TOWN PROGRESSES:

Meeniyan is a small town on the move! It was featured in the ABC series “Bed Of Roses” and has a very positive proactive chamber of commerce. There are currently several local initiatives underway with intentions to bring even more people to the town.

OTHER FACILITIES IN MEENIYAN:

The local IGA supermarket is conveniently open 7 days a week from 7am till 9pm. You can find several excellent dining venues, the well known Moo’s at Meeniyan Restaurant, Trulli Pizza, the great southern rail trail, the Meeniyan Hotel, a nice golf course, sports ground, Art Gallery, Cafes and more … Lyrebirds Arts council holds many concerts, live music nights and art shows at the Meeniyan Hall every year, which brings regular business to the motel.

But without even needing to consider anything further, the Meeniyal Motel units are smack bang on the main road to Victorias (and possibly Australias) number one tourist destination, Wilsons Promontory National Park.

YOU’LL WANT TO KNOW MORE:

Inside The Nursery Hot House

This photo was taken inside the greenhouse at the Narkabundah Native Plant Nursery in Sandy Point on the far eastern coast of South Gippsland.

It shows the delightfully colourful array of potted Australian Wild Flowers, this wholesale business supplies right around the country. The metal trolley in the centre of the pathway adds a focal point and combines well with the straight rows of red kangaroo paw in the background.

Photos Of Koonwarra

I’ve always been impressed with the features of Koonwarra, its upmarket shops, day spa, organically inspired farmers market, pretty scenery, large display of autumn trees lining the highway, the terrific cycling/walking trail and the friendliness of the people.

On this page are some nice photos I took in KOONWARRA are few years ago of the autumn leaves, shops, streets, flowers, fruit and vegetables, the nursery, gardens etc … and here are even more pictures of Koonwarra and the surrounding towns too.

South Gippsland Canoe & Kayak Tours

When I was visiting Wilsons Promontory National Park last week, I noticed a boat, canoe and kayak hire company had set up a much needed service at the tidal river car park for local campers, tourists and day trippers.

Canoe Tours operate at an advertised
10am, 2pm and 7pm daily.

Exciting abseiling adventures
start at 7am.

on 0427 342761.

It was great to see people enjoying the waterways even more than ever, and the girl pictured here along with her brother, were ecstatic at being able to navigate the light current and gently blowing winds in the kayaks their parents hired to keep them suitably and healthfully entertained for the afternoon.
